yutub is a simple application that you can use to save YouTube videos to local storage devices, in various formats and resolutions. It is easy-to-use, but features a basic and outdated interface.
Can easily generate download links
After launching the application, all you need to do is paste the URL of the desired video and have the program generate download links. These are sorted depending on file format, size and video resolution.
Then, you can simply copy the generated link and paste it in a web browser or have the application automatically perform this action.
If you want to further speed up the link generation process, you can disable the extraction of video file size. This way, the clips are still sorted automatically, but you cannot view their exact size.
Note that this application can only create download links for the 720p or lower resolution versions of YouTube videos.
Does not allow you to preview videos and needs to be used together with a web browser
You cannot preview clips before downloading them, which would have been useful for easily confirming that your are saving the right video.
