VirtualDVD is a practical and straightforward media emulator that helps you to mount ISO images within seconds. It creates virtual drives on your PC, providing you the possibility of emulating CDs and DVDs for instant access.
Installing this application is very simple since it relies on a short installation process, however extra care is required in order to dismiss any third-party software that might be included in it and VirtualDVD does not require to run properly.
The application comes with support for various formats, including CloneCD (*.ccd), Cue Sheets (*.cue), CDImage (*.img), Alcohol 120% Image (*.mds, *.mdf), CloneDVD (*.dvd), Nero (*.nrg) and ISO (*.iso), to name a few. On the other hand, those of you who wish to mount image files created by Ultra ISO, Magic ISO and Power ISO won’t be able to use VirtualDVD.
During our tests, we noticed that it stays quietly in the System Tray menu and does not cause the system to freeze, and neither does it impact other running applications. It allows you to quickly mount or unmount images, as well as change settings from the right-click menu.
Simply navigate to the proper folder, choose the image file you are interested in and mount it. VirtualDVD will automatically recognize it. This way, you are able to generate iso, mds, mdf and mdx files, thus emulating CD and DVD drives.
The program is able to mount one image at a time, but it should be enough, especially for the beginner user. It does not require you to perform any advanced configurations so it can be used by anyone. What’s more, the application works with various CD and DVD-Rom drives and enables you to load almost any image you want.
To conclude, VirtualDVD comes in handy for users who need to mount images and emulate CD, DVD and Blu-ray drives effortlessly.
