PTPdrive Description
PTPdrive can integrate a PTP or MTP mode camera into your operating system by mapping it to a local drive letter. Pictures can be accessed by simply opening them from a drive letter.
The program enables any application, including Windows Explorer, to access and transfer the images stored on the camera. PTPdrive can work with any PTP/MTP digital camera.
System requirements
- Disk space: about 2 MB for the PTPdrive executables; at least 100 MB for the PTPdrive cache (temporary storage for pictures downloaded from the camera)
- Memory: 10-20 MB of memory per mounted drive
- Any CPU, as long as Windows can start up an run
- USB port to connect your digital camera to the computer
- Digital camera operating in PTP or PTP/MTP mode
Limitations in the unregistered version
- You can transfer up to 30 files from a digital camera, until the computer is restarted
- Only one PTP camera can be mapped to a drive letter concurrently
- Automatic mapping of a connected camera to a drive letter is disabled
- Cache size cannot be changed, it is hardcoded to unlimited
- PTPdrive API to control connected camera is disabled
