Proxy Checker Description

When you want to access a certain website or online service that are typically accessible only to users located in a certain country or area, you can bypass this restriction by connecting to the Internet using proxy servers.

There are various specialized software solutions that can simplify this task, but you still need to specify the proxy server you want to connect to. While searching the web can provide you with numerous such proxy addresses, some of them might be slow or not work at all – and this is where Proxy Checker comes in.

This application does not require any installation, so you can simply carry it on your USB flash drive, then launch it whenever you stumble across a website that is forbidden to users in your country.

Its graphic interface is highly intuitive, since you simply need to specify the address and the port number of the proxy server you want to test. You also need to choose the corresponding protocol, be it SOCKS 4 or 5, HTTPS or HTTP.

Furthermore, Proxy Checker also supports servers that require authentication, as you can also enter the username and password required for using the proxy.

You can also fine-tune the testing settings – namely, you can either set the application to simply connect to the proxy server or you can set it to establish a connection to a given host through the proxy server. You can also choose another type of test, one which assesses the proxy server’s latency.

Last but not least, you can also configure Proxy Checker to function through Proxifier, which can come in handy if this is the application you use for connecting to the Internet via proxy.

All in all, Proxy Checker can come in handy if you want to make sure a certain proxy server actually works before attempting to connect to the Internet through it.
