Portfolio Manager Description

Portfolio Manager is an advanced application made to help you administer and monitor your financial stock transactions in a user-friendly environment. It features an open trades list for detailed stock information, tax reports ready for printing, along with a stock calculator, among others.

The installation procedure is fast, and the only notable aspect about it is that .NET Framework must be installed.

Create multiple portofolios

A project can be started by entering a portofolio name. Worth noting is that multiple portofolios can be put together. In the following stage, you can enter the default exchange type and list style and font, ending of the financial year, and delay time for stock price updates, as well as include open trades in the history tab and brokerage in the purchase year.

Add trades and dividends

New trades can be put together by indicating the account, exchange, stock code and trade type (ordinary share, dividend reinvestment, special issue, short). Additional details concern the purchase (date, brokerage, quantity, DRP allocation, price, comments), trading plan (target price and date, stop loss, trade rating) and sold (date, brokerage, price, comments).

Dividends can be added as soon as a trade is created, by selecting the account and stock code. Portfolio Manager facilitates a trade diary for writing down any personal and important notes, a stock calculator for buying, selling, return and risk management, along with watch lists for any exchange types and stock codes.

Examine, export and print information

The open trades, history information and watch list can be viewed in three separate panes. Meanwhile, the overview details show the total and available funds, total return, profit, dividends and net profit, along with open trades cost, market value, profit, and day change.

It’s possible to back up the portofolio, update trade prices, import and export data (QIF format), hide the account statistics, add or withdraw funds, modify the account setup, generate profit/loss or portofolio value charts, password-protect Portfolio Manager to restrict the access of other PC users, reset the columns and fonts to default, as well as rebuild the account transactions.

Evaluation and conclusion

Surprisingly, the program used low CPU and RAM in our evaluation. There were no stability problems, since it didn’t freeze, crash or show error dialogs.

To conclude, Portfolio Manager proves to be a resourceful and approachable finance utility for creating and managing multiple portofolios with stock-related information.
