NetCamCenter Description

NetCamCenter is an surveillance application that offers support for 16 or more cameras over a network. It’s capable of triggering alarms, recording videos and sending email notifications automatically.

Set the window mode

An initial configuration can be made after firing up NetCamCenter by setting the interface to one-window mode (recommended for users with less than 16 cameras) or advanced mode, which features multiple windows for multiple monitors or access through a remote desktop (for a large number of cameras). Plus, you can modify the default data folder. From the main window, you can also switch to kiosk mode (fullscreen).

One-window or advanced interface mode

The central window is large and well-structured, revealing a tree structure with all devices and cameras put at your disposal. Each entry can be configured when it comes to the camera, model, display name and address, as well as HTTP and RTSP port. Additional properties focus on the username and password, stream, channel, protocol, codec, audio, and DVR: view only, turn recorder on, turn alarm on, use timer, or turn alarm and recorder on.

Record videos, set alarms, and send emails

It’s possible to set the preferred disk directory for saving recordings, specify the frequency for capturing footage or limit the file size instead, periodically generate image snapshots, as well as configure video settings concerning the codec, sample rate, resolution, frame rate, and other aspects.

Monthly schedulers can be customized for turning on the recorder or alarm by indicating the dates and weeks, along with the start and end time. You can also instruct NetCamCenter to send email notifications or play alarm sounds when the alarm is triggered, besides recording video and maximizing its window.

Evaluation and conclusion

NetCamCenter used a surprisingly low amount of CPU and RAM in our tests, so it didn’t hamper the computer’s performance. Thanks to its advanced configuration properties, the application should meet the requirements of meticulous users looking for a reliable surveillance tool.
