iRedSoft Image Resizer is an application with a pretty self-explanatory title – it allows you to change the size of your images. But you can also make other modifications, such as format conversion.
The interface of the program is clean and intuitive. Pictures can be imported into the list by using either the file browser or “drag and drop” method. Batch processing is supported.
In the queue you can check out the name, orientation, sort order and path of each image file. So, all you have to do is specify the new size (e.g. by percentage, by frame), set the destination folder and proceed with the task.
Furthermore, you can change the image file type to JPG, BMP, GIF or PNG, choose the resampling method, color depth and JPEG quality, as well as enable iRedSoft Image Resizer to retain EXIF header information and to keep the IPTC header.
On top of that, you can apply effects (e.g. sharpen, blur), add drop shadow and select its color, remove the red eye effect, enable to keep the subdirectory structure, backup original files, and others.
The simple-to-use program takes up a moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time, quickly finishes a task and manages to keep a good image quality after resizing and conversion. We haven’t encountered any issues during our tests. There’s also a well-drawn help file that you can check out (too bad it doesn’t have snapshots). Other than that, we strongly recommend iRedSoft Image Resizer to all users.
