GPU Shark is a lightweight GPU monitoring tool developed by Geeks3D. It’s primarily used to monitor NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards and display detailed information such as GPU temperature, clock speeds, memory usage, and more. It’s particularly popular for quickly checking GPU status without the overhead of larger monitoring suites like MSI Afterburner or HWMonitor.

✅ How to Use GPU Shark

1. Download and Install

  • Go to the official site: https://www.geeks3d.com/gpu-shark/
  • Download the ZIP archive (there’s no installation—just unzip and run).
  • Extract the files to a folder of your choice.

2. Run GPU Shark

  • Double-click the GPUShark.exe file.
  • You may need to right-click → Run as Administrator to access all GPU data.

🖥️ Interface Overview

When you launch GPU Shark, you’ll see two modes:

  • Simple Mode (default):
    • Provides basic info like:
      • GPU name
      • Temperature
      • Load
      • Fan speed
      • Power consumption (if supported)
  • Detailed Mode:
    • Press F2 or click View → Detailed View.
    • Displays:
      • GPU clocks (core, memory, shader)
      • Voltages
      • GPU usage per engine
      • Driver details
      • Memory usage per GPU
      • Temperature per sensor (if multiple sensors exist)
      • PCI Express lane usage

🔁 Refresh & Logging

  • Auto Refresh: GPU Shark updates values in real-time.
  • Logging: GPU Shark does not include a built-in logging feature. If you need long-term data logging, consider using:
    • GPU-Z
    • HWInfo64
    • MSI Afterburner

🔧 Advanced Tips

  • Multiple GPUs: GPU Shark supports multi-GPU systems. Scroll down in the detailed view to see all detected GPUs.
  • Command-line usage: GPU Shark has minimal command-line functionality; it’s mostly GUI-based.
  • No Overclocking: GPU Shark is read-only—it doesn’t support fan or clock adjustments.

⚠️ Limitations

  • Limited support for integrated GPUs (e.g., Intel HD/UHD).
  • Doesn’t support logging or graphing.
  • Windows only (no macOS/Linux version).

🧩 Good Alternatives

If GPU Shark feels too basic, consider:

  • GPU-Z (More detailed info and logging)
  • MSI Afterburner (Monitoring + overclocking)
  • HWiNFO64 (In-depth sensors and system overview)
