Electric Description

Nowadays, the internet is filled with all sort of software solutions, especially for engineers and architects. One useful piece of software is Electric. It allows you to create and design electric circuits, boards and more.

It’s packed with all sort of nice tools and features all neatly arranged in an intuitive interface.

Lightweight graphical interface with all tools at hand

Electric takes almost no time to install and has all sort of neat features. You can create a project from blank, or you can import a large variety of schematics or libraries. There’s the option to import projects in AutoCAD, Caltech Intermediate Format and more.

Libraries can be imported from the repository or you can create them from scratch.

Create and edit electric circuits using this neat application

Electric allows you to create circuits and add layouts, cells, nodes, transistors and even create an arc. All these elements can be connected through wires, simply select a component and move the cursor away in order to wire it.

A wire will be created that runs from the component to the location of the cursor. You can also place contacts to a transistor and change the hierarchy of elements.

Simulation and other neat features

It comes with the option of enabling simulation and routing for your projects. Artwork is available for nodes and other elements, you can place cell center in new cells and have the application reconstruct arcs and exports when deleting instances.

Duplicates can be created for any element inside tour circuit and it comes with a very extensive settings menu that allows for making all sort of changes to the application’s functions and its tools. When the project is done, simply export it and use one of the many formats available inside the application.

All in all, Electric is a nice software solution for creating and designing electric circuits, bipolar integrated circuits and printed-circuit-boards.
