Straightforward video downloader based on open-source software
The application downloads and converts content using youtube-dl and FFmpeg, but it provides users with a novice-friendly GUI that makes these operations a lot simpler. The configurations are performed from the main program window, and commands are then sent to the bundled utilities automatically.
Once a download has started, it can be monitored from the Command Prompt window that is opened. The software monitors its progress and also displays the total file size, download speed and ETA.

Currently, YoutubeVideoDownloader supports more than 900 video hosting websites, so it is safe to say that you are not likely to have any trouble saving most of the clips you come across.
You can choose between the four video resolution options that are available (360p, 480p, 720p, 1080p) or just have the app download the highest quality version of the clip that is available.
However, it is worth noting that we were not able to download any YouTube videos at 1080p or higher, although this was not an issue when we provided links from Vimeo.
