XnView is a versatile and lightweight image viewer, organizer, and converter available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It supports over 500 image formats and offers features like batch processing, editing tools, and slideshow creation.

There are two main versions:

• XnView Classic – older, lightweight version for Windows only.
• XnView MP – newer, modern, multi-platform version with better Unicode support and features.

🔹 Getting Started with XnView MP (Recommended Version)

1. ✅ Download and Install

• Go to: https://www.xnview.com
• Choose XnView MP for your operating system.
• Install and launch the program.

📁 Main Interface Overview

The interface is split into:

• Folder Tree – browse directories
• File Browser – shows thumbnails of images
• Preview Pane – displays the selected image
• Tabs – you can open multiple images in tabs

🧭 Basic Usage Guide

🔸 1. View Images

• Navigate through folders in the folder tree.
• Click on any image to preview it.
• Use arrow keys to move between images.
• Double-click an image to open it in full view or edit mode.

🔸 2. Edit Images

With an image open:

• Click Image in the menu bar for options:
  • Crop, Resize, Rotate, Flip
  • Adjust Brightness/Contrast
  • Apply filters (Blur, Sharpen, etc.)

🔸 3. Batch Processing

Useful for converting, resizing, or renaming many files at once:

• Go to Tools > Batch Convert
• Add files or folders
• Set your output format, resize options, rename rules, etc.
• Click Go to start processing

• Go to Tools > Capture
• Choose:
  • Entire screen
  • Active window
  • Rectangle area
• Optionally delay the capture
• Captured image opens directly in XnView for editing

• Add categories (tags) to images
• Use color labels or ratings
• Sort or search by EXIF data (like date, camera, etc.)

🔄 Convert Between Formats

• Open or select your images
• Go to File > Export
• Choose format (JPEG, PNG, GIF, etc.)
• Adjust quality or compression settings
• Save the new file
