The Xiaomi gamepad is an affordable controller that offers a layout similar to the very popular range of devices created by Microsoft for the Xbox. Like many such controllers, however, it often suffers from compatibility issues, and this particular model also lacks adequate documentation.
Xiaomi Gamepad to Xbox 360 controller Mapper is a small utility that remaps the controls on the gamepad, thus getting around the compatibility issues by making Windows see it as an Xbox 360 controller.
Initially, you will need to install the SCP driver that is included in the downloaded archive. It is recommended that you read the provided documentation to make sure the right options are selected during the setup process.
Once that is done, you have to run the “mi.exe” file that can be found in the main directory. A command line window will be brought up, and the program will let you know if any controllers are detected.
Since the Xiaomi gamepad has the same layout as an Xbox 360 controller, it is unlikely that there will be any issues with the mappings, provided the installation procedure was successful.
