WonderfulShare PDF Editor Description
WonderfulShare PDF Editor is an easy-to-use application that enables you to open PDF documents and make modifications to the content before saving the new files. It contains simple options.
Open and edit PDF documents
Installing the tool doesn’t take long but you should make sure that .NET Framework is installed or it won’t work. The interface is based on a fairly large window with an intuitive layout, where you can get started by opening a PDF document. The PDF pages can be previewed in a vertical strip on the right side of the window, and you can easily jump to any page by just clicking on it.
Add text, images, highlights, and shapes
It’s also possible to zoom in and out, add text, insert images into any part of the page, highlight important parts of the document to draw the viewer’s attention, insert rectangles, ellipses, lines and arrows, as well as paint with a pencil and erase unwanted parts.
Rotate PDF pages, apply password protection, and manage user permissions
Undoing and redoing actions can be done too. Buttons are also available for rotating the PDF pages by 90 degrees to the right, as well as for password-protecting the PDF document with a user and owner key. In this case, you can also manage user permissions when it comes to normal and HD printing, content extraction, copying and modifications, comments, form filling, and the screen reader.
Inconsistent PDF editor that lacks elementary functions
We tested it on Windows 10 with the latest .NET Framework version. WonderfulShare PDF Editor popped up an error several times while navigating PDF pages by double-clicking them on the right-side pane but didn’t quit to the desktop. Another error popped up several times (randomly) while testing the application, after which it exited.
Zooming and out of pages can only be done by clicking the + and – signs on the bottom-left corner of the window. This cannot be done by clicking and dragging the slider or by using the mouse scrollwheel while holding down Ctrl (as it’s customary with text editors).
It’s not possible to customize the color of the added text or change other font-related settings, nor to resize it. Images are inserted with their original dimensions and cannot be resized. Scrolling the pages accurately can only be done with the hand tool because the mouse wheel is unusable and the vertical scrollbar doesn’t react to minor adjustments.
Looking forward to improvements in both stability and functionality
Although the rotate button in the toolbar works, the rotate entry in the “Edit” menu doesn’t. Furthermore, the password protection feature experienced an erratic behavior during our evaluation: the tool successfully created a protected document in some cases and failed to do so otherwise, although no errors were signaled and no kind of changes were made between the saving tasks.
All aspects considered, it’s safe to say that WonderfulShare PDF Editor needs more development before it can become a reliable PDF editing application. We hope that these stability issues will be resolved in future updates, and that elementary functionality will be introduced.
