Wave Editor Description

Wave Editor is a software with a title that pretty much explains its functionality – it lets you easily edit audio tracks with the WAV extension.

The interface of the application is simplistic and easy to navigate through. Audio tracks can be imported via the file browser or “drag and drop” method.

So, you can use the mouse cursor to make a selection or manually input the begin and end time, adjust the volume and save the selected area in the WAV format.

Moreover, you can view file properties (format, channels, duration, sample frequency rate, samples, data size), zoom in and out, and select the scale format (milliseconds or samples).

Furthermore, you can apply various effects (e.g. fade in and out, normalization, reverse, insert silence, amplify), as well as use the undo, redo, cut, copy and paste functions. In the “Settings” area you can specify the interface language, temporary working folder and colors for the background, scales and Wave data.

Wave Editor runs on a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, includes a brief and inconclusive help files for beginners, has a very good response time and didn’t freeze or crash during our tests. On the other hand, its range of features is pretty limited. For example, you cannot apply essential audio effects like flanger, reverb and echo. We recommend Wave Editor with reservations.
