VDFilter Description

VDFilter is a manually implemented DirectShow transform filter allowing users to add VirtualDub filters in graph applications such as GraphEdit, GraphEditPlus and so on.

In order to use the application, users must run a command line and add its primary file into the Windows Registry. After this has been accomplished, VDFilter is displayed in the Insert filters window of any DirectShow application. The developer provides users with an explanation file, which can be found in the application’s ZIP folder, meaning that even beginner level users are going to be able to use this custom application.

The program functions as a video transform filter that processes uncompressed RGB32 videos. Other formats are not supported at the current moment. It can be used in chains and even more complex graphs.

VDFilter supports around 90% of all available VirtualDub filters. The filters act as plugins, which can be configured using VDFilter. Users can set parameters for the filters and view the description of .VDF file.

VDFilter supports the IPersistStream interface, a feature that allows users to save a graph with a custom .VDF plugin to a .GRF file. When the saved file is loaded once more, VDFilter is going to load the selected plugin and configure it automatically.

The application can be used in a wide array of programs and it does not invoke an Open File dialog box every time it is inserted to a graph. It offers a COM interface through which users can select specific .VDF files, overview filter information and apply the filter’s individual settings.

VDFilter is a useful application, especially to users who work with graphs on a daily basis. The wide range of VirtualDub filters provides users with a variety of customization functions, that can be successfully implemented into media rendering.

NOTE:This filter is free for non-commercial use. For other cases contact the author.
