UBasic Debugger for SDM Description

Photographers who employ Stereo Data Maker for tweaking the firmware of their Canon digital cameras could require a way of testing their SDM code for errors. UBasic Debugger for SDM is an PC-based IDE that will enable users to create, edit and test UBASIC scripts for their SDM package.

In its main module, the application will allow one to input the required scripts and then preview its steps and edit them if required. Novice users must be aware that the scripts cannot be edited when running and that in order to set break points they can just double click on the preferred line.

After modifying the script in order to meet the specified requirements, the utility will display an error log that can be used by people to identify the areas where problems occur. Using the second module, when the scripts are running, one will be able to easily adjust the parameter and variable values. A three section interface will offer previewing for the parameters, CHDK functions and corresponding properties.

Providing the means to run the scripts selectively, the utility comes packed with a “Step” feature that allows people to run only the highlighted code sections. Furthermore, all the current scripts and corresponding directory names are stored in a properties files, which can be loaded as many times as possible, without losing the changes.

Users must take notice that this utility will be able to test only SDM scripts and if they need to debug CHDK scripts, they are advised to use the UBasic Debugger for CHDK from the same developer.
