TurboTop Description

Depending on the type of activity you need to perform on a computer, chances are you need to keep some windows on the top layer to always have them in plain sight. Not all windows come with this ability, but with the help of TurboTop you can easily enforce it on anything on the desktop through a simple press of a button.

Toggle layer priority from the tray icon

With little time spent in the installation process, you get to check out the set of features before you realize. Right from the start, it minimizes to the tray area, and is the place it spends most of its time, especially since it’s not fitted with a window, except for a small control panel which shows up on interaction with the icon.

The application makes it possible to force any window to stay on the top layer. It doesn’t matter whether the specific window is active or not, because it’s automatically detected on launch. Interacting with the tray icon brings up a small panel with all active windows enlisted, and you can also view which are on top.

Good, but far from being a pro

Simply selecting a window from the list enables top layer priority on the spot. To deactivate this, you need to select it again from the tray panel. You’re not limited to a specific number of windows, thus giving you the possibility to configure window arrangement on the desktop, and choose which stay on top.

The installer offer the option to make the application run with Windows every time, but this can also be manually enforced by placing a shortcut in the system startup folder. Sadly, window focus makes the target lose top layer priority, and even interacting by mistake toggles this, and there’s no option to handle automatic loss of layer priority.

To end with

In conclusion, TurboTop can help bring a little order to working with a crowded desktop. Setting top priority layer for any window is easily done at the press of a button. Sadly, this trait is canceled whenever you interact with the target window, which has a considerable impact on overall practicality.
