Trogon MAC Scanner Description

Trogon MAC Scanner is a powerful Windows tool developed to scan networks and retrieve IPs and MAC addresses of all systems.

Although it was developed to be installed by professional users too, the program comprises a very intuitive GUI that could allow beginners figure out the purpose of each feature with minimum effort.

The main window shows the results of every single scan, including IP address, MAC address, host name, workgroup and manufacturer. A second tab called “Database” is also available, giving you the option to save as many entries as you want for later analyzing.

In case you have more than a single network adapter, Trogon MAC Scanner allows you to select the interface you wish to scan, as it automatically detects all existing networks and their IP configuration.

Furthermore, Trogon MAC Scanner can export results too, with supported formats including TXT, XML and CSV.

As you can see, the app isn’t quite difficult to use, but an online help manual is available, just to make sure you can take the most out of each feature.

On the good side, Trogon MAC Scanner works smoothly on any Windows iteration on the market, without any significant slowdown experienced during our testing. Administrator privileges aren’t required on Windows 7 workstations.

And speaking of computer performance, the only available setting allows you to configure the number of threads, which on older computers should come in very handy in order to prevent major slowdowns.

Overall, Trogon MAC Scanner does exactly what it says, but this isn’t the kind of tool all network administrators should use. It’s indeed very intuitive and comprises a fast scanning engine, but it still lacks some essential features, such as the possibility to open scanned computers.
