The Novel Factory Description
The Novel Factory is a powerful and comprehensive application that allows you to start building your new novel. The program is designed for beginners and experienced writers alike, since it offers useful structures for generating scenes, conflicts, characters and location setting. It is suitable for storing ideas and pieces of text.
Guidelines for beginner writers
The Novel Factory is designed to help you create a novel skeleton and pick up the process of writing. The tool allows you to break the story down to structural segments and save them separately, in order to streamline the writing process.
The program’s friendly interface allows you to follow the plan you set forth, thanks to the division of the tasks on various tabs. You can provide the premise, synopsis and select a template for your storyline, in the Planning phase.
The program offers you several templates, built on three acts, that you may easily modify, expand (with details) or replace.
Characters, locations, scenes and other resources
The Novel Factory can act as a digital agenda, in which you can store ideas, descriptions, even graphic representations of characters or places. The Character tab is dedicated to storing descriptions of the actors in your story: from height and age to motivation and the extent of their role.
Similarly, the Locations tab allows you to add descriptions of places, graphic representations or maps. The Scenes tab hosts the automatically generated scene list, based on your specifications in the Extended Synopsis section.
Editor notes and writing helpers
The Submissions tab is where you may store editor’s notes, along with their follow-up. You may also keep useful links, literature lists or notes in separate tabs. The Statistics tab calculates your progress and average speed. The Novel Factory allows you to easily export or import characters, locations, scenes or the manuscript since each is saved in a separate file. Moreover, the program includes a spell check tool, based on imported dictionaries.
