SPTCorr Description

Nowadays everything can benefit from a computer, and specialized applications can be used to analyze just about anything before starting any ambitious project. As such, SPTCorr comes to aid in geotechnical analysis by calculating various values required to perform drilling and find out more about particular patches of soil.

Set initial SPT calculus parameters

The application already wants to calculate a whole abundance of values for you, so it keeps everything cleverly organized in a tabbed interface so you don’t feel overwhelmed. You start off from a SPT (standard penetration test) value, while rest of values are automatically calculated as you navigate through tabs of interest.

There is a general set of SPT calculation parameters which lies at the core of every operation. Fields here allow you to fill in values for test depth, G.W.T., average soil unit weight, rod length above feet surface, and whether or not to apply correction due to G.W.T. Other parameters include footing width, DF, factor of safety, and footing pressure.

View results and generate a report

Depending on your needs, the result can be rounded up or down, or displayed with decimals. After input of initial data, the application shows calculus for N60 – N1,60, relative density, friction angle, Es modulus, Su for cohesive, Vs, settlements on sands, bearing capacity of sand, as well as settlement of pile group.

Unfortunately, most values are displayed in non-editable fields which don’t even allow you to copy values, so you need to manually grab them if you want to write them somewhere else. On the other hand, the application is capable of building a cool report containing all data, which you can export or print to file. However, the report can’t be customized in terms of sections to export.

In conclusion

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that SPTCorr is a powerful application which can surely help you obtain accurate calculus from Standard Penetration Test scenarios. Values are calculated in real-time, and you can even build and export an organized report.
