SecureFX Description
With the help of SecureFX you can transfer data via FTP in a secured environment. Aside from FTP, the application supports FTP over SSL, SFTP, and SCP.
At startup you are required to specify the configuration directory. Once connected to a remote computer via FTP or another protocol type, you can download or upload files and folders, rename or delete items, copy URLs, as well as create and manage bookmarks.
It is possible to synchronize information between the local and remote machine (e.g. upload only, mirror both) and apply filters, send a command directly to the FTP server, create public keys or convert private ones to OpenSSH format, manage agent keys, as well as customize the toolbar.
Several options can be configured for SecureFX. For instance, you can set it to minimize to the system tray area instead of the taskbar, establish the default transfer type (e.g. ASCII, binary) and action for existing files (e.g. overwrite), set up file and directory permissions, as well as add exceptions to the firewall.
The program does not put a strain on system resources, as it uses minimal CPU and RAM. It has a good reaction speed and transfers data quickly. We have not come across any issues in our tests, since the app did not freeze, crash or display error messages. All in all, SecureFX should please all users.
