Robomongo Description

Robomongo aims to make working with MongoDB databases much easier, providing a user-friendly GUI for managing documents and editing their content without effort. Needless to say, you must be familiar with MongoDB (which is required for the application to work properly) to be able to use Robomongo at its full capability.

Client and editor for MongoDB

The MongoDB server must be running and waiting for connections to set up a new connection in Robomongo. In other words, Robomongo acts as a client for the MongoDB server, enabling users to access the target server and browse documents stored in a database.

Thanks to the tree-like explorer, navigating to collections, functions and users folders is just a matter of a few clicks. You can check out indexes and the startup log, browse collections and keys.

Built-in editor with integrated JSON validator

Robomongo displays any accessed document in a new tab, allowing fast navigation among different database areas. You can open documents and insert new ones in the database, as well as delete or edit existing ones.

There is a built-in editor that is opened whenever you want to insert or edit a document. It features syntax highlighting and code completion, along with an integrated JSON validator to check the code for errors.

MongoDB & Robomongo – a powerful database management duo

There is no doubt Robomongo eases the work with MongoDB, proving to be a great assistant when it comes to editing and managing this type of databases. It can run concurrent shell instances without a problem, allowing you to browse documents, edit and run code. And since it comes with an open-source license, it’s definitely worth a try.
