RoboCop RoboCopy Description
Users who employ the capabilities of the Robocopy.exe command found in the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools, might require a way of generating and monitoring their own scripts. RoboCop RoboCopy is a script generator utility that was designed specifically to help people generate their own scripts, with tools for monitoring the realtime progress and source / destination targets.
Being deployed as a standalone executable file, the application can be run from any directory, but it will require for users to have administrative privileges over their system. This is particularly necessary if one wishes to be able to integrate the utility with the Windows context shell menu.
Build using the .NET Visual basic platform, RoboCop RoboCopy was targeted for the 3.5 framework and it will offer users a series of features meant at building and monitoring their own “Robust File Copy” scripts with customization for application behavior.
Once users have selected the preferred source and target directories for the copy process, the application will provide them with a listing of the files, as well as the copy speed. Multiple advanced options are offered for customizing the process and people will be able to control the Verbose output, display the estimated time of arrival or parameters such as “retries on failures” or “minimum wait”.
