RipIt4Me Description

Most computer users who have been around the block a few times know how hard it can be to maintain CDs and DVDs in shape (more from the physical point of view, rather than the digital one). This is good enough reason to backup your files, even when they are placed on external disks.

When it comes to DVDs, this is easier said than done. According to modern standards, DVDs now come with a complicated protection system which disables you to copy them. In order to get over these barriers, you need a specialized piece of software such as RipIt4Me.

Built-in wizard or one “1-Click” mode

RipIt4Me allows you to rip protected DVDs, in a few easy steps. You can either go through all the steps presented in the wizard, or choose “1-Click” and let the software do all the hard work for you.

RipIt4Me depends on a few other applications to perform nicely: DVD Decrypter (compulsory; the whole ripping process is accomplished with its aid) and optionally DVD Shrink (verifies the output files) and FixVTS (for cleaning DVDs protected by ARCcOS or RipGuard).

Configuration settings

The Preferences menu allows you to select to remove protected cells, tiny cells or useless menu cells, always cleanup VOBs on a full DVD, remove unreferenced video, and others. Ripping can be set to full DVD, movies and menus, movie only or ISO image.

Logs and performance

RipIt4Me saves details of the ripping process in logs, allowing you to view all the steps that lead to the final process. The time it takes for a full backup can vary, depending on a variety of factors, but we can assure you that the quality of the results is worthwhile.

Bottom line

With all these things in mind, RipIt4Me makes for a great solution for backing up your genuine DVD videos, and we recommend you give it a shot.
