Power Plan Assistant Description

Power Plan Assistant is a simple-to-use application with versatile options that helps you activate power plans for various Windows events, whether the laptop is running low on battery (Power Saver) or you want to play a game at maximized performance (High Performance).

It can launch certain programs when enabling a power plan, turn off the monitor, lock the computer or toggle Task View (Alt+Tab) when moving the mouse cursor to the top-left corner of the screen, activate the screensaver, as well as prevent the PC from sleeping.

Can be controlled from the taskbar notifications area

Once launched, Power Plan Assistant creates an icon in the system tray area and shows the current battery plan, charging status, and battery life.

You can enable High Performance, Balanced or Power Saver powe scheme on the spot. Switching to Presentation Mode prevents the computer from turning off, regardless of the active power plan.

Plus, you can set the PC to immediately shut down, restart, sleep or sign out (from Windows Shut Down Menu).

Open Advanced Settings Menu to customize options

It is possible to immediately open the Windows Power Options area to change the profile. When the mouse cursor moves to the top left corner of the screen, Power Plan Assistant can either lock the computer, power off the display or toggle the Flip 3D feature.

You can also set app to turn off the display, shut down the computer or activate the screensaver when double-clicking its icon the tray area, automatically switch to the Power Saver plan when the battery drops (set the threshold), and aunch any application when switching to a specific power plan.

Moreover, you can ask the application to switch to High Performance or Balanced power plan when the laptop is plugged in, and to Balanced or Power Saver plan when it’s unplugged. Settings must be saved before exiting the app in order to apply them.

The tool didn’t hog system resources in our tests and worked smoothly. In a nutshell, Power Plan Assistant provides practical options for automatically changing power plans to optimize computer settings and favor performance, save battery life, or create a balance between the two. It can be easily configured.
