Playora Description

Smart TVs offer a broad range of features and include numerous apps designed to help you watch content streamed from various services. However, they all use different interfaces, and these are not always very well designed.

Playora is a useful application that can make it easier to watch TV shows or movies, listen to music or view various other websites on your device. It streams content directly from your PC to your smart TV via Wi-Fi, and allows you to create bookmarks for all your favorite web pages.

Relatively straightforward setup procedure

Playora is fairly simple to install, although it is worth noting that it requires both Adobe Flash Player and Google Chrome to be installed on your computer. The latter is necessary for displaying certain web pages, should the internal browser not support them.

Once that is done, the program is more or less ready to use, and it comes with numerous bookmarks for various popular services, such as Netflix, Amazon Video, Spotify, Twitch and so on.

Create bookmarks and send content to your smart TV via Wi-Fi

While Playora does include a number of pre-created bookmarks, you can, of course, add your own, and it is possible to stream local content or web pages.

When creating a new bookmark, you can use the application’s search function to find the desired web page via the built-in browser. After selecting one of the results, the program inserts its title, URL and thumbnail image automatically, but you can edit these fields manually as well.

Lastly, you can click any of the created bookmarks, select your device from the list and begin streaming content.

Useful application that still needs some improvements

Playora does not support all existing smart TVs, but you are encouraged to offer feedback to help the developers make the program compatible with a wider range of devices.

Sadly, the application’s interface needs a bit more work, as it feels rather clumsy at the moment, and the quality of certain visual elements leaves a lot to be desired. Also, it cannot be customized in any way.

Overall, Playora is an interesting utility for users who are not happy with the standard interface offered by their smart TVs and are looking for a simpler method of watching streamed content. It could still use some improvements and needs to provide support for more devices, but, on the whole, it looks quite promising.
