Pingeon Description

Pingeon is a simple to use LAN instant messenger which allows you to communicate with users who are connected to the same local network. The application is lightweight and requires only that you specify the other user’s internal IP address, in order to connect to their station.

Simplistic LAN messenger

Pingeon is easy to use, does not require installation and it is designed to help you communicate with friends or coworkers in the simplest way possible. The application must be running on all the computers to which you wish to send messages. You may simply open the program, type in the internal IP address and assigned port, then send text messages.

Pingeon supports several commands which allow you to connect to a particular station or to change your alias in the conversation. A list containing several more commands can be displayed in the console, by typing in “/help”. Thus, you may enable/disable incoming IP change detection or extend information support.

One time messages

Pingeon is designed in such way that it does not support saving conversation histories or centralizing the messages on a certain server. Each Pingeon instance allows you to communicate with one other station, however, you may start multiple conversations by opening multiple instances.

You may easily send and receive messages to/from the station which you connected to, without joining any central server or channel. The application does not support file sharing or video/audio conferences, however, it is simple and convenient to use.

Instant tool for quick messages

Pingeon can be opened as quickly as double clicking on the program’s icon. You may easily close the connection or pause the message exchange using the designated commands. Moreover, the program can also display a set of parameters, such as alias or incoming/outgoing IP addresses, when prompting the Status command.
