PG Offline Description

PG Offline makes it possible for you to look for and read messages broadcasted in your Yahoo! Groups without using a web browser. With a user-friendly and well-organized interface, it can help you get messages from the Yahoo! servers, alongside their attachments, and browse their content in a different manner.

Read messages and manage your Yahoo! groups

Upon launch, you are prompted to provide your Yahoo ID and password, which are obviously mandatory. Then, you must go to the ‘Group’ menu and choose to get the groups list. PG Offline displays all the groups you are part of, enabling you to choose the ones you want to grab messages from.

Newly received messages are automatically read by PG Offline and placed in a structured table, which comprises the sender’s name, subject, the date and the time it was received, attachments (if any), and the topic ID. With a single click, you can mark a message as read, add it to the favorites, export it to an external database, delete it, or even access Yahoo to compose a reply.

View statistics and download attachments

Not only that PG Offline retrieves existing messages, but it also enables you to obtain a list of group members, view group statistics and manage settings, or even create new groups. The group and the member lists can be automatically or manually refreshed, your choice.

Attachments can be easily downloaded to your computer using PG Offline. You can set a download speed limit and configure the allowed delay. Additionally, the entire message list can be exported to a single file.

Access Yahoo! Groups outside the browser

The simple approach that PG Offline adopts makes it suitable for any user type, be it beginner or not. It enables you to read messages, grab attachments and backup the group’s message archive.

On the downside, it redirects you to Yahoo! if you choose to reply to a message and does not allow you to create new topics, which would bring it closer to the feature set of Yahoo! Groups and turn it into a really competitive outside-the-browser alternative to the online version.
