PDF Creator Pilot Description

Developers who use ASP, Visual Basic, Visual C++ or the Delphi programming languages might, at some point, need to create PDF files from those environments.

PDF Creator Pilot is a library that was designed in order to provide people with the means to create PDFs with the preferred characteristics, from the aforementioned programming languages. In addition to its design capabilities, the library will allow one to open, visualize or merge PDF files.

PDF security, font embedding and different sets of characters, coupled with document compression are also supported, this way providing users with a complete set of tools for manipulating PDF files. One will be able to add or delete document pages selectively, generate custom watermarks, apply them on the preferred pages or use and embed fonts in different formats.

Experienced users will be able to create interactive PDF files with JavaScript or hyperlinks and the library also supports custom encryption and password protection for the generated PDF documents. Tree-structure layouts can also be created and manipulated and people can define and apply their own annotations.

Some other features that are worth mentioning are the text extraction tool, which will allow one to extract the preferred text strings from the loaded PDF files and the creation of PDF documents “in memory”, which can be useful for Web applications.

HDC (Virtual Device Context) is also offered, this way people being able to draw on PDF pages using WinAPI functions and therefore add PDF generating features to other applications.
