Passion Audio Player Description
Passion Audio Player is a simple-to-use tool that allows you to play audio tracks of multiple formats, including OGG, WAV, MP3, APE and WMA. It can be easily handled, even by less experienced users.
The interface of the app is dull and familiar. Items can be imported into the playlist by using either the file browser or ‘drag and drop’ method.
So, you can use basic audio player functions, such as pause and stop, navigate back and forth within the track, as well as adjust the volume.
But you can also create, save and manage a playlist, use a search function, view information on each item (e.g. art work, artist, album, title, length) and configure an equalizer. Plus, you can adjust the audio balance, load tracks from an audio CD or URL, as well as record sound files.
From the ‘Preferences’ section you can change the interface skin and adjust the color enhancement levels, manage plugins (e.g. Winamp support), make the app minimize to the system tray or stay on top of other programs, as well as configure audio settings (e.g. sampling rate, CD playback method, interpolation, fade in and out).
The audio player needs a moderate amount of CPU and system memory, has a good response time and includes user documentation. No error dialogs have popped up in our tests and Passion Audio Player did not freeze or crash. Unfortunately, the interface is outdated.
