Oracle to MySQL Description

Oracle to MySQL is an application designed to offer the possibility to convert databases built using the Oracle service into the MySQL format, with options for integration in corresponding servers. The overall process is wizard driven, with each step fitted with descriptions and info fields that need to be filled in accordingly.

The application only targets Oracle databases to be transformed into MySQL, and not the other way around. The process can be used from the command line utility for batch processing. Conversion data benefits from filter support via Select queries.

Databases are grabbed from both conventional and virtual server environments, where privilege limitations might not allow the creation of new databases. For virtual server environments, a blank database needs to be created, after which data is migrated using the application’s features.

Custom conversion can be done, as an alternative to the direct, conventional move process of the Oracle database to MySQL server. This is done through a dump file created by the application, with all data fields stored there, thus deferring conversion to provide more control over the process.

There’s built-in support for existing profile settings that determine the functionality of the conversion process. This enables conversion customization by skipping indexes, making all strings case sensitive, show tables owned by the user, or conversion of table definitions only.
