Notepad Script File Editor Description

Notepad Script File Editor is a lightweight Windows programming application designed specifically for helping you edit VBscript and PowerShell script files, or any of the common text files in Notepad.

Portable running mode

The tool comes bundled in a portable package which can be deployed on your system by simply running the executable file and bypassing the installation process. You can also copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices and run it without administrative privileges.

It does not leave any traces in the Windows registry and other configuration data on your computer. You may get rid of it by simply deleting the files that you have grabbed from the Internet.

Multi-tabbed layout

Notepad Script File Editor sports a clean and simple layout that integrates a set of multiple tabs for helping you quickly access the preferred script file.

How it works

The program gives you the possibility to specify the source directory where the script files that you want to edit via Notepad are stored. It automatically reveals the files included in the specified directory. You need to manually enter the folder path or paste it from the clipboard, however, since there is no button for using an integrated file browser.

With a right-click on the selected file, you can rename, delete or close the item. Several smart buttons are included in the GUI for helping you edit, run or encode files. Each file can be opened in Notepad and edited in the current window.

Bottom line

All things considered, Notepad Script File Editor comes with several handy features for helping you edit VBscript and PowerShell script files in Notepad, and can be handled for all types of users, regardless of their experience level. It had minimal impact on the computer’s performance in our tests and worked smoothly on Windows 10 since we haven’t come across any compatibility issues.
