Night_Raven Codec Pack is a collection of codecs that enables you to play multimedia files from a wide variety of formats on your computer. Codecs are components that are used for encoding or decoding signals or digital data streams in order to make them accessible to other applications. The actions performed by such a utility translate into decoding whenever the file needs to be edited or played and encoding the signal or data stream for encryption, storage or transmission.
This collection of codecs ensures support for the following formats: AVI, MPG, MPEG, VOB, EVO, MP4, MOV, 3GP, WebM, OGG, OGM, OGV, FLV, TS, MTS, M2TS, MKA, MKV, BDMV, MPLS, RM, RMVB, BIK, MP3, DTS, DTS-HD, AC-3, AAC and FLAC. During the installation, users can choose to disable support for certain file types according to their preference.
Night_Raven Codec Pack’s setup menu makes it possible to modify speaker configuration by choosing between Stereo (2.0) and Multichannel (5.1) outputs. Media Foundation can be disabled for some of the video formats, in case there are issues with displaying subtitles. All the formats listed above can be associated with Windows Media Player since codecs packs usually need a host application that they can be implemented into.
