NFO Writer for E is a feather-light application designed to analyze MKV videos and show technical details about the clip contents, giving you the possibility to generate NFO files using this information. This way, you can upload not only movies online but also relevant details.
Prerequisites and interface
The utility’s not wrapped in a setup kit, so you can copy the downloaded package anywhere on the computer and run the tool by just double-clicking the .exe.
It can also be stored on a removable storage device to run the app on any PC while knowing that it doesn’t leave traces in the system registry after removal. However, it only works if you have .NET Framework installed.
The interface of NFO Writer for E is represented by a large window that reveals all options put at your disposal. At startup, it brings up to the screen a built-in file browser, asking you to locate and select the MKV movie you’re interested in investigating.
Analyze MKV details and create NFO files
The scanning operation takes places immediately and generates information with the clips’ release name and date, genre, iMDB link and rating, source, audio and video codec, runtime, resolution, subtitles, language, and file size.
Any of these fields can be modified while iMDB details can be looked up on the spot (including poster image) by clicking a button. To create an NFO file, you can set the custom path to the saving directory.
It shall have the same name as the MKV file. It’s also possible to ask the tool to seed right after generating this NFO item, as well as copy media info to the Clipboard instead of rendering a file.
