NetstatWrapper Description

If you have medium to advanced networking knowledge or you work as a server administrator, then you probably know all about Netstat, a useful command-line tool that provides information and statistics about protocols in use.

While Netstat (short for Network Statistics) is quite useful as a diagnosis tool for tracking down particular problems, but it might seem a bit intimidating for beginners at first. Fortunately, you can now run Netstat commands from within a straightforward user interface with the help of a small application appropriately named, NetstatWrapper.

Run Netstat commands within a simple interface

Evidently, since the utility comes with a proper interface, the biggest advantage is that you are no longer required to use Command Prompt to run Netstat commands. Instead, you only need to launch the app (Run as Administrator might be a good idea), select one of the provided commands and run it by clicking the designated ‘Run’ button.

You should know that NetstatWrapper allows you to run the following commands with no more than a few mouse clicks: ‘-an’, ‘-anb’, ‘-ano’, ‘-r’ and ‘-es’. More specifically, the utility enables to view a lits of connection and ports as numbers, as numbers with the involved .exe or with the process id. In addition, the program shows Ethernet statistics and per-protocol statistics, as well as the current routing table.

View network statistics within a text file

Once the NetstatWrapper runs the command at hand, it displays the results in a text file. As you can imagine, the text file is opened using the systems default text viewer. However, you can also choose to open the results with the help of any third-party text processing app.

Taking all of the above into consideration, if you job as a server or network administrator requires you to work with Netstat on a daily basis, then NetstatWrapper can improve your workflow and reduce the time necessary for running the most generic commands.
