NetCrunch Tools Description

NetCrunch Tools bundles a collection of network management utilities that provide administrators with everything they need in order to carry out daily tasks. It includes a set of basic IP tools, scanners and subnet tools that offer an alternative to using the command console for network audit operations.

Ping, traceroute, wake-on-LAN, DNS audit and whois

Not only that administrators do not have to use the command prompt to perform routine tasks, but NetCrunch Tools features a modern-looking and intuitive interface that offers one-click access to all the functions, perfectly integrating with the latest versions of the Windows operating system.

As mentioned above, the suite includes a series of IP tools that can ease the work of network admins. The ‘Ping’ function enables them to check the availability of any host or IP address and calculate the time needed for a message to reach a PC in the network, while the ‘Traceroute’ tool can retrieve information regarding packet transfer delays. The application also comes with wake-on-LAN, DNS query and whois options, enabling users to read details concerning a specific domain or a DNS server.

Integrated port and service scanner

Thanks to the built-in host scanner, one can instruct NetCrunch Tools to verify whether hosts in a specific IP range are reachable or not.

The TCP port scanner and the service scanner enable users to discover opened ports in the input IP range and check the status of some of the most well-known network services. SNMP nodes can also be audited using a dedicated tool.

NetCrunch Tools can also perform reverse DNS lookup, detect errors in the DNS setting and retrieve the MAC addresses assigned to each host in an IP range.

An all-in-one network management package

Considering the above, it’s safe to say that NetCrunch Tools gathers the basic network audit and management tools administrators need into one single package, while also providing a user-friendly GUI for them to work with, rather than the command prompt.

With its help, administrators can perform simple operations such as checking to see if a host is still reachable to verifying the status of network services and available ports.
