NBMonitor Network Bandwidth Monitor Description
NBMonitor is dedicated to monitoring all incoming and outgoing network traffic, putting at users’ disposal an easy-to-learn interface and intuitive options. It is helpful for discovering the amount of data transferred by web browsers and local services, for example.
The installer takes little time to finish and does not include special options. The tool’s interface is represented by a regular window with a plain but well-defined layout, where monitoring starts after selecting the network interface.
Bandwidth-hogging apps and services are displayed in the list, along with details such as process ID, local and remote IP and port, protocol, remote host, sent, received and total packets, date and time, along with their full path. The status bar shows the total size of outgoing and incoming data.
Items can be sorted by process or remote host. Exporting and printing features are provided but unavailable in the unregistered version of NBMonitor. However, it is possible to create a backup with statistics and save it to XML, which includes a daily, weekly, monthly or custom report (based on a user-defined date range).
As far as program settings are concerned, NBMonitor is able to resolve IP addresses to host names and to automatically run at system startup. The date format can be changed too.
CPU and RAM consumption is minimal during the app’s runtime. It has a good response time and works smoothly, without triggering Windows to hang, crash or pop up errors. Overall, NBMonitor is a pretty efficient software application for monitoring network traffic and viewing statistics.
