Navigator Utilities Description

Navigator Utilities is an add-in designed for Microsoft Excel that comes loaded with a bunch of advanced tools to help you simplify your work.

It gives you the possibility to seamlessly manage worksheets, locate URLs, search local, global and hidden names, browse cell dependents and precedents, as well as resort to an advanced search function.

Simple setup and interface

Needless to say, you must have Microsoft Excel installed to be able to work with this app. Setting it up takes minimal time and effort, since there are no special options involved. Afterward, it can be accessed from the last tab in Excel’s ribbon bar.

Manage Excel worksbooks

When it comes to sheets, you can choose a workbook to protect, as well as insert, delete, rename, hide, unhide, protect, unprotect, move, copy, duplicate and sort sheets by various criteria.

If you want to look up names, you can filter local or global items by type, add filters to the scan scope, and set the number of objects to display in the search results.

Furthermore, it’s possible to trace history regarding precedents or dependents, and customize the annotations for the audit tool (e.g. unique and copied formulas, formulas with numbers, cells with text and numbers), among other options.

Evaluation and conclusion

Keyboard shortcuts are supported for swiftly accessing each Navigator module. We haven’t experienced any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that the add-in didn’t cause Excel to freeze, crash or indicate errors. CPU and RAM usage was low, so it didn’t hamper the PC performance.

The fact of the matter is that Navigator Utilities brings powerful options to the table to help you boost your productivity when working with Microsoft Excel, backed by handy configuration settings. It’s mostly geared toward hardcore users.
