My Network Speed Description

As its name implies, My Network Speed provides you with a lightweight and comprehensive application that can help you keep an eye on the download and the upload speed for the connected network adapters. Dedicated mostly to network administrators, it enables you to monitor the data traffic in real time.

Designed with ease of use in mind, this application does not feature an actual interface and its behavior can be configured from the right-click menu. It resembles a sidebar gadget, offering information on the transfers in your network.

At each run, the application automatically selects one of the available interfaces to monitor (and notifies you about its action using a pop-up window), but you can modify the chosen default adapter using the dedicated section of the context menu. If the program is minimized to the system tray, then this menu is opened by right-clicking on the icon.

There are not many configuration settings you have to deal with, which makes the application really easy to use, regardless of your experience level. Nevertheless, you can modify the speed refresh rate, change the window style (horizontal or vertical), set and lock its position on the desktop.

Also, the application can be set to run at system startup, which means that it will load each time you start the computer and display the network statistics on the desktop.

Unusual data traffic can be a sign of unauthorized activity or intrusion in the network and therefore, monitoring the transfers is vital to the well-functioning of the entire network.

My Network Speed does its job as promised and ease of use makes it worth your while, but keep in mind that there are other similar tools out there that offer the same and more (for instance, supervising all the network adapters in a single interface).
