There are days when going to the cinema is not the most alluring prospect especially if the weather is not fine or if you simply don’t feel very sympathetic towards crowds.
For days like that, there are software solutions offering to replace the big screen with a rather modest one, but bragging about the latest in the movie industry. One such application is Movies Play HD Online.
Features a simplistic GUI
Before anything else, it is worth mentioning that this is a program addressing exclusively Windows 10 computer users, packed in a simplistic interface that should give you no headaches when exploring it.
Without being particularly appealing, the GUI will let you browse through a collection of movies, with a menu in the top-left corner allowing you to check out the most popular as well as recent additions to the list.
Browse movies by year or genre
What’s more, you can sort movies based on the production year as well as genre, with options such as “Music,” “Adventure,” “Biography,” “Crime,” etc. being available for you. Naturally, you can also type in the name of a movie and search for it if you’re not into experimental sessions.
We have to admit that the application is home to a fairly nice collection of movies, but not in the least impressive. You will not get easily bored with the selection, but if you are inclined to like indies, for instance, you won’t spend a lot of time with the app.
Fullscreen mode not supported
Assuming your taste in movies is satisfied, all you have to do is click on any entry and choose the resolution you would like to watch the flick in: 360, 720, or 1080 pixels. You will have at your disposal some basic controls, such as play, pause, and adjust volume, but perhaps the most bothersome aspect is that there is no fullscreen mode, which obviously hinders the entire experience.
However, you may want to know there is something compensating for this flaw: a download button is available in case you want to save movies for offline watching.
Not one to stand out from the crowd
All in all, Movies Play HD Online is a lightweight application aimed at Windows 10 computers that gives you access to a movie collection you may enjoy. While the program was overall very responsive during our tests, unfortunately, it does not really differentiate itself from the multitude of similar products.
