Momo Description

The most common way to share files is via email, yet there are other ways as well, you simply need to take some time to discover them.

For example, if it’s screenshots you want to share, you can rely on specialized apps like Momo to upload them online and generate URLs that can later be sent to friends.

Take rectangular desktop snapshots

The application installs without any effort, and it sits quietly in the system tray until you want to take a snapshot of your desktop. Unfortunately, it allows you to capture only rectangular areas, meaning that no other shape is available.

Another downside is the fact that you cannot assign hotkeys to Momo, so every time you want to take a screenshot, you first need to click the system tray icon and only afterwards can you start the capture.

Automatically upload screenshots

As soon as a snapshot has been taken, it gets automatically uploaded to an online server, and a URL linking to its location is generated. Needless to say, you can send this link to multiple users via instant messaging or email, so as to help them download the image.

If you are willing to go the extra mile and create an account, you can keep track of all the snapshots you have taken so far and even download any of them as many times as you wish.

Useful, yet limited app

Overall, Momo is an intuitive solution for taking snapshots and sharing them with other people. Its main strength resides in the fact that it does not require expert PC skills to be used, thus making it accessible even to novices.

However, it can only capture rectangular snapshots that are then saved exclusively as PNG (no other format is available) and this drawback, together with the lack of hotkey support, might push away some potential users.
