As the name suggests, Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool is a software application that attempts to automatically repair common .NET Framework issues by scanning the computer for such errors. It does not include any configuration options, making it suitable for all types of users, even the ones with limited or no experience in computer software.
The interface is based on a simple wizard where it is necessary to follow simple steps to carry out the repair task in no time. The program scans the PC for known .NET Framework issues and displays the course of action, explained in detail.
For example, the tool is capable of unregistering and registering the Windows Installer service using MsiExec.exe, as well as of stopping and restarting the same service.
However, Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool is not able to notify the user whether the applied modifications were successful in restoring .NET Framework within normal working parameters or not, so it is necessary to manually test this.
In the last step of the wizard, the utility records activity to a log file and offers to send it to Microsoft for closer inspection. There are no other notable options provided by the program.
Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool finishes a scan-and-repair job quickly and with minimum effort, while using a barely noticeable amount of CPU and RAM. We have not come across any problems throughout our evaluation, since the program did not hang, crash or display error messages. Note that this application handles only common .NET Framework issues.
