MeetWord is an approachable and easy to understand piece of software designed to serve an educational purpose, that of assisting you in English language acquisition tasks, so you can learn new words, both in terms of pronunciation and writing.

Basic yet intuitive looks

The program features a large, slightly blank interface, its usage however being fairly accessible and straightforward, even if your computer experience level is limited.

The main window of MeetWord will display a new word and you can navigate forward using the ‘Next’ button to view new terms and find out more about them.

Choose a learning mode and start teaching yourself English words

The application features several functioning modes, allowing you to select the one you want to work with from the corresponding menu. As such, you can opt to learn ‘From English Words’, ‘From English Pronunciation’ or ‘From English Sentences’.

Similarly, you can teach yourself new terms from the context, by using the ‘Words – Sentences’ mode, or you can work with the ‘Move Letters’ option, which jumbles the letters and requires you to restore their proper order.

To listen to a certain word’s pronunciation, you simply need to click it, while the ‘Details’ button provides you with more information about the current entry, how it is used in a sentence, its definition or its phonetic transcription.

Moreover, MeetWord offers you the possibility to choose between two different phonological systems, either the ‘Kenyon and Knott’ or the ‘International Phonetic Alphabet’, depending on your preferences.
