MAC DOCK Description

MAC DOCK is a very simple Windows utility designed to create a Mac OS X-like dock on your desktop, allowing you to launch certain programs with just a single click, just like you do with the ones in the Quick Launch.

This isn’t the first time we’re seeing such a program and it’s a well-known fact that most docks are pretty eye-candy, just like the original one designed by Apple.

Well, things are very different in this case. Not only that MAC DOCK looks terrible as compared to the Mac OS X version, but it also provides only the basic customization options, which means you can’t even place new icons on the dock.

Instead, MAC DOCK sports its very own shortcuts to some of the most popular applications on the market, but in case you’re using a different word processor or a photo editor, chances are that you can’t start it from the dock.

Besides the interface and the customization options, another thing that’s very disappointing is the fact that you cannot move the dock around on the screen, as it sticks to the bottom of the desktop.

And if you’re looking for configuration options, your search should take only a few seconds, because MAC DOCK only allows you to set up transparency, enable auto hide, set minimum height and force the app to stay on top.

On the other hand, the footprint on hardware resources is minimal and although MAC DOCK seems to work okay on all Windows versions, it sometimes crashes on Windows 7.

All things considered, MAC DOCK is a tool to forget, not only because the interface is a mess, but also because it provides almost zero customization options.
