Lock State Description

Lock State provides information at a glance regarding the state of the Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock keys, notifying you about any changes, so as to prevent accidental pressing of these keys.

Portable and easy to configure tool

Designed with simplicity in mind, Lock State is delivered inside a lightweight package, with very little impact on the system resources. It actually runs in the system tray only, so there is no standard interface to deal with. As such, configuring the application is done via the right-click menu.

All functions are straightforward, which makes Lock State very easy to work with. Things get even easier considering that no installation is required.

Color-coded buttons and sound alerts

Here’s how it works: each of the aforementioned keys is assigned a button (N for Num Lock, C for Caps Lock, S for Scroll Lock) and the state is revealed by the button’s color. The color scheme is completely customizable, which means you can set Lock State to show, for example, active keys in red and inactive keys in blue.

Lock State can notify you using sound alerts (unfortunately, these are not customizable) when the state of a key changes, so as to avoid accidental key pressing. One interesting feature is that you can configure it to remember the state of the three keys and restore it next time the application launches.

Monitor the state of Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock

Lock State does its job without flaws and without affecting the host system in any way. It shows you the state of the Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock keys using custom color schemes in the low right corner of the screen, near the system tray.

While some improvements might add to its value (such as a customizable shortcut key for showing the state of the keys or customizable sounds), Lock State is a handy tool that helps you prevent accidental key presses of Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock.
