LiteManagerFree Description

Made as the free edition of LiteManager, LiteManagerFree is a comprehensive software application that provides you with the necessary tools for remotely accessing and controlling other PCs in the local network.

It lets you remotely install programs, perform file transfers, shut down machines, manage active tasks, and so on.

Simple setup and interface

The setup procedure is a fast job that shouldn’t give you any trouble. Once it’s over, you are welcomed by a user-friendly interface, made from a large window with a clear-cut structure, where you can quickly connect to as many IP addresses as you want to control.

Edit connection settings

Connection properties revolve around the connection display name, IP address or DNS name, IPv6, and authentication mode. It’s possible to view the other machines in normal, full screen or stretched view mode, as well as to constrain proportions and pin sessions.

LiteManagerFree lets you change the color format and CPU usage level, capture only the foreground window and alpha-blending windows, lock the server’s mouse and keyboard, disable the Aero effect, remove the wallpaper, lock the workstation on disconnect, disable Clipboard synchronization, and accept callback connections automatically, among others.

Manage connections and control machines

Connections can be grouped together in multiple categories. The main app window reveals the host, last IP address and port number, sort order, comment, status, version and MAC address for each remote machine, but any of these fields may be hidden.

As previously mentioned, it’s possible to remotely deploy applications, transfer files, switch to read-only mode, shut down PCs, manage running programs, execute commands, launch Command Prompt dialogs, view the Device Manager and Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol, as well as chat with the other users.

Moreover, you can administer an address book with contacts, import domain connections, view log details, scan for ROM servers, merge multiple connections into one, update the previews, and so on.

Evaluation and conclusion

We haven’t come across any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that the utility didn’t hang, crash or display error messages. It had minimal impact on computer performance, running on low CPU and RAM.

All in all, LiteManagerFree comes bundled with a lot of useful options and configuration settings to help you remotely control computers via LAN.
