JimIP Switcher Description
JimIP Switcher is an easy-to-use application that enables to create network profiles with different configurations and seamlessly switch through them, as well as to apply some commonly used LAN tools. The app integrates intuitive options that can be figured out by anyone.
Modern and attractive GUI
The installation procedure may take a while to finish, but JimIP Switcher does not require special attention, since it integrates common options. It is wrapped in a modern and clean interface with neatly organized buttons.
Easily create a network profile
It is possible to add a new LAN profile to the list by selecting the network adapter and specifying the profile name and type: DHCP or IP settings. The last mentioned option means that you have to edit the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS and alternate DNS server. For each network type you can use proxies.
All profiles are recorded in a separate area. JimIP Switcher creates an icon in the system tray at initialization and, after selecting a profile from the LAN list, you have to confirm it from the tray.
Use LAN tools to your advantages
In addition, JimIP Switcher integrates options for running a Trace or Ping command on any selected IP address or URL with a user-defined time interval, as well as for scanning the network by defining the start and end IP address. The network profiles can be edited or removed from the list. Last but not least, JimIP Switcher features backup and restore options.
Evaluation and conclusion
We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation, since JimIP Switcher did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. It uses low CPU and RAM and applies changes quickly. All in all, the app serves its purpose and can be easily used.
