It’s no doubt that playing a digital instrument is easier when the MIDI keyboard you are using is optimized for touch screens. With such a utility, you don’t have to use the mouse or the computer’s keyboard to play, but your fingers. IsoPad is one of the Windows apps that allows you to play your instrument by hitting the chords with your fingertips.
Connect to your DAW and enjoy playing
IsoPad connects to your digital audio workstation or other MIDI application via a virtual MIDI cable. The connection should be established if you select the virtual MIDI cable as an output MIDI device in IsoPad and an input MIDI device in your DAW. Once everything is in place, you can start jamming with IsoPad.
Play your instrument on touch screens using different keyboard layouts
The highlight of IsoPad is its capability to run seamlessly on touch screens, allowing you to play your instruments in an intuitive and easier way, exactly as you would do with some of the modern hardware device interfaces.
It features three different touch-enabled keyboard layouts, allowing you to choose the one you prefer. The ‘Iso 1-5’ displays one semitone horizontally and five semitones vertically, while ‘Iso 2-5’ adds one semitone horizontally. Last but not least, the ‘Keyboard’ layout comprises one semitone horizontally and twelve semitones vertically. As you can surely notice, the classic piano fingerboard is accompanied by the so-called “isomorphic keyboard layouts”, which are perfect for touch-enabled monitors.

The simple interface of IsoPad makes it suitable for both studio use and live sessions, and its multi-touch controlling layouts are sure to help composers and music aficionados learn chords easier, enhancing their experience.
Thanks to IsoPad, the computer can be turned into a MIDI touch controller and then used for playing any electronic MIDI instrument using touch. Additional features, such as sliders or faders, are available in XotoPad, IsoPad’s older brother.
