InverseLite Description

InverseLite is a specialized software utility designed to come to the aid of geologists, geophysicists, water and civil engineers. It can analyze sounding data to create a likely earth layer model, as well as generate apparent resistivity values for a given earth model.

Versatile and powerful scientific tool

The application enables you to interpret Schlumberger and Wenner resistivity sounding data, as well as noisy datasets. It can be used to process data collected from a variety of terrains, either for mineral exploration, foundation engineering studies or other purposes.

InverseLite does not require an initial model so begin the inversion process, as it can calculate an optimal solution based directly on the field data. However, you can also take advantage of a manual mode that bases the inversion mainly on the initial model defined by the user.

Calculate the resistivity sounding curve and generate an earth layer model

Once the required data has been inserted, the application generates a graph that, together with the earth layer model, can be exported to a Word document, PDF file or PNG image.

The graph can also be customized, as it is possible to change the colors of the various elements, select a different font and increase or decrease the width of each line.

Additionally, you can provide a name for the report, as well as identify the client, location, instrument, geophysicist and company.

Well-designed application that could use some more documentation

Despite clearly being aimed at specialists, InverseLite is not terribly difficult to use, provided you are familiar with the basic concepts of resistivity sounding interpretation.

However, it would have been great if a detailed user manual were available locally, as first-time users would certainly have found it to be helpful.

In conclusion, InverseLite is a handy software solution designed to help you interpret Schlumberger and Wenner resistivity sounding data. If offers quite a few useful features, and it is very intuitive, but it lacks adequate documentation.
