You may sometimes find yourself in need of a way to capture audio from your analog devices and save it to a digital format on your computer. One simple application that can help you with this is Icesun Sound Recorder, a tool that can be used to capture sound from various sources.
Record audio from microphones or other sources
Icesun Sound Recorder allows you to capture audio from devices connected to your computer’s sound card, such as microphones, line-in devices, as well as audio CDs.
It can name files according to a preset pattern and add the current date and time. If an identically named file already exists, the new one is automatically renamed, in order to avoid overwriting.
Choose from multiple output formats and use audio filters
The program can record sound in numerous formats: MP3, WAV, VOX, OGG, AC3, AAC, G721, G723, G726 and G729. You can modify various settings for each one, including frequency, bitrate, encoding quality and channel mode.
For certain formats, you can enable VBR, a function that allows higher bitrates to be used for more complex segments of the audio files.
You can also use automatic gain control and various filters that help reduce the noise that is so difficult to avoid when recording audio.
Edit ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags
Icesun Sound Recorder offers a function that can help you organize your MP3 files. You can modify ID3 tags, that store certain information, such as title, artist, album, genre, track number and copyright data.
The program also includes a built-in mini audio player, but we were unable to test it on the latest operating systems (Windows 7, 8 and 8.1), as it could not be loaded.
